The Bergslags canal is 65 km long from Karlskoga in the south to Filipstad in the north. Important as a transport route for bar iron, now popular among boat people, anglers and longdistance ice-skaters.
At Knappfors lock there is a foundry, a mill,and a small shop made of slagstone along with pasture land for animals. Bergslags canal is the starting point for activities.M/S Nobella travels up and down the canal and you can also rent a canal boat, canoe or a motor boat for yourself so that you can enjoy the sea breeze.
