Mellsta Campsite is situated in the beautiful Mellstaparken, right at the edge of the meandering River Dalälven. For generations, Mellstaparken has been one of most popular outing destinations for Borlänge inhabitants.
With its wide selection of services and its magnificent views over the River Dalälven, the park attracts both summer holidaymakers and campers.
Adjoining the park, you can find jogging tracks of different lengths and grades of difficult, both in the summer and winter, and in winter we have our own snow cannon.
Borlänge Municipality has invested over 10 million kronor in Mellstaparken and built a new service centre, a new café with a shop and a new camping stove, in other words the majority of things have already been done to improve the service for campers staying on the site.
During 1999, a children's pool was finished.
For the summer of 2000 the Municipality has invested in 8 new camping cottages and for the summer of 2001 3 new 6-beds cabins were
built.
In the summer of 2002 the new mini golf facility was constructed. Mellstaparken is owned by Borlänge Municipality and is leased by Kvarnsvedens GoIF Idrottsallians, (A sports organisation) which is responsible for running it.
